WHAT IS THE COVER MADE OF?
Custom Spa Covers and custom Hot Tub Covers are made from an aluminum and foam sandwich core. The top surface is aluminum with a baked on enamel painted finish (like the hood of car). There are twelve designer colors available to coordinate with most spa and backyard color schemes. The inside is foam for insulation. The aluminum top and bottom are embossed to hide scratches and maintain the quality look of your cover for many years. The outer edge is anodized aluminum for longer lasting beauty. The seal works much like a refrigerator, with a positive suction on level surfaces. The seal must be measured to sit flush on a flat surface to seal, this also keeps the aluminum edging from scratching acrylic spas. This is different than vinyl covers. When provided with the outside dimensions we bring in those measurements 1″ (one inch) which equals 1/2″ on each side.
WHY AN ALUMINUM COVER, WHY NOT ANOTHER VINYL?
This is a longer lasting cover. Our aluminum cover will withstand the abuse from large dogs, cats that scratch, and rodents that use the foam and vinyl for nesting material. Also those mildew and smell problems are no longer there. Protection for children should be an overriding consideration when recommending the ALUMINUM SPA COVER. Snow loads and weather considerations caused vinyl covers to taper their covers, and this still didn’t work. These weather problems don’t affect our superior aluminum covers. They won’t collapse in the middle due to heavy snowfall, pets or children.
WHAT IS A SAFETY COVER AND WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
The spa industry in response to some safety issues joined together with ASTM and developed a standard for the customer to assess the safety aspects of spa covers. Custom Spa Cover must be sold with the TIE DOWN SET to meet the safety cover standard. This cover has been tested by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) to meet those standards, and their reputation is impeccable. (Click here to see our certification on the UL website.) Who tests your cover??? When the Custom Hot Tub Cover is purchased with the TIE DOWN SET, there is a label affixed to the cover, stating that it meets the standard, with the UL Classified mark, and safety cover warnings. It is clearly there for all, the customers and building inspectors.
WHY DO YOU NEED A LIFT?
The days of lifting off your spa cover with two people are gone. Freedom of where to store the cover when it is off is solved. Using the lift instead of your back, is using your head.
